Hi everyone,
Great response to the challenge grant, thanks to everyone who has given and please continue to spread the word about the challenge. It has been a good week of training, but my headline of recovery is key. The day in day out riding for 75 days will be putting huge stress on a body that doesn’t work as well as it used too. I have been using a recovery drink that has been around for a while, it is advertised on every sports program and i like the taste. The drink is pronounced “bud wise er” now I only learned recently that this may not be the best recovery drink to use. Imagine my surprise, years of training philosophy down the tube. I did seek expert counsel and am now using what i have been told originally came in green, been around longer and is better for you, it is pronounced “hien ek en”
be well,

  1. Imagine my surprise when I entered the Beta house last spring (with students in tow), and the first thing I did NOT smell was beer! My friend’s son is a beta, and he took us on a tour. I was somewhat chagrined to find that the basement was excessively clean — my feet didn’t even stick to the floor! We also got to tour the national house (it was a mom/son weekend). Beautiful. I think my daughter Chrissy would love MIami, but we’ll see….

  2. Hi, Mark, So nice to see you walking Tuesday. Looked great! Now reading here I see you were a Beta? And the Alpha chapter no less? I knew there was a reason I liked you. I married a Beta and always been a fan…So do you walk along singing, ” “Marching along in Beta Theta Pi, marching along…”. I even have an original songbook I “borrowed” from the house in Chapel Hill. Maybe if we walk someday, I will bring it and we can sing to Wooglin all through Winnetka! Best, Nancy
